Welcome to Grats ("we", "our", "us"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Grats platform, which enables users to send and receive gratitude/ digital expressions of appreciation processed via multiple payment options.
By creating an account or using Grats, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts. · By using Grats, you represent that the information you provide is true, accurate, and complete.
3. Services
Grats provides:
A platform to send gratitude (payments accompanied by appreciation messages).
A platform to receive gratitude from others through approved payment channels.
Wallet and transaction history services for record-keeping.
We may update or modify services at our discretion, provided such changes do not undermine your fundamental rights.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
Use Grats only for lawful purposes.
Use Grats for show of gratitude only and not for payment of goods or services.
Not engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity.
Provide accurate KYC/identity documents when required.
Keep your login credentials confidential and secure.
5. Payments & Transactions
All transactions are powered by licensed financial service providers, subject to GDPR and AML/CTF regulations.
Transaction fees, where applicable, will be communicated clearly before processing.
Gratitudes” (tips) on Grats are voluntary and generally final. To protect the Grats ecosystem, payments from unregistered users are processed only via Apple Pay or Google Pay, both of which require biometric two-factor authentication. These controls materially reduce fraud risk and the likelihood of refund or chargeback claims.
Grats is not intended for the payment of goods or services. Refund or chargeback requests citing “items not received” or “service not rendered” will be investigated and, where substantiated, a refund or chargeback may be issued but services to claimant will be terminated henceforth. Any use of Grats for goods/services payments or fraudulent activity will result in termination of access to Grats for the responsible party.
Disclaimer All gratitudes are final. No refunds, reversals, or chargebacks will be processed once a gratitude is sent. Please ensure you review your transaction before confirming.
6. Compliance & Verification
We may request identity verification ID, proof of address, etc., to comply with KYC and AML laws.
Transactions may be delayed, suspended, or reported to regulators if suspicious activity is detected.
7. Intellectual Property
The Grats brand, logo, design, and platform content are the exclusive property of Grats.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or exploit any Grats intellectual property without prior written permission.
8. Limitation of Liability
Grats provides services on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We are not liable for:
Losses due to payment network failures or downtime.
User errors (e.g., sending gratitude to the wrong recipient).
Unauthorized access where you failed to safeguard your credentials.
9. Privacy
Your use of Grats is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:
Breach these Terms.
Engage in fraudulent or unlawful activity.
Fail to meet compliance requirements.
Upon termination, your access to Grats will cease, but regulatory obligations (e.g., record retention) may require us to hold certain data.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Disputes will be addressed first by good-faith negotiation, then mediation as above.
The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the UK or EU, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence, and you will benefit from any mandatory consumer protections of that jurisdiction.
